Band Bio

Penetrating a mundane and sterile music climate, Toronto-based band, The Android Meme, unequivocally represents a revolution of social and political awareness. In a world overcome by organized systemic chaos, the lines between truth and political theatrics blur in a steady violent haze. Humanity is forcefully divided and strategically eroded by commercial self-interests, propagating a Western society that is being steered into madness.

Despite this pre-apocalyptic reality, a desperate hope remains in the information war that seeks to confuse and battle for our minds. An awakening is underway and spearheaded by the dynamic and abrasively emotive musical aspect of The Android Meme. Creating a sonic synthesis of progressive rock and electronica, The Android Meme passionately explores the psychological and political experience of being human in present times where the medium is not only the message, but truth is ultimately stranger than fiction.

“(an) Alternative, electro, and verbose rock band" "The Android Meme is a Toronto band with a fresh sound. I'd describe them as electronic-tinged prog rock, accessible and far from boring."
- Adam Morrison - exploremusic.com

"The Android Meme, the band the media the movement! I've seen lots of bands but The Android Meme who I interviewed last night have a passion and commitment that is truly unique and a pleasure to be around. Look for these artists to make their mark in 2010... join the Meme movement!"
(Oct.29.09) - Rick Jones - Radio Caledon B105FM

"This is completely reminiscent of what the emo kids were listening to before they were called emo kids. The only thing harder than the rhythm is the angst. I listened to all 10 of The Android Meme’s tracks again after a good night's sleep and only ended up more impressed. These songs are richly textured tapestries with lyrics far more important than the usual brand of whiner-angst.”
